 young musician

 Competitors will qualify by winning 

Brass Class M8, Guitar Class M18, Piano Class M38,

Recorder Class M58, Strings  Class M78,

Woodwind Class M88 or Percussion Class M93

with a mark of at least 87.

 These classes all have the same conditions

18 years and under  -- Time Limit 8 minutes

 Own Choice  -- Entry Fee £10

This award was made possible by a generous bequest from the late Tony Hounsome's estate in 2007. Tony was associated with the Festival as teacher and bandmaster, committee member and most recently vice chairman. He taught many of the young instrumentalists who were our past competitors and it seems fitting that this award be made in his memory.

 Competitors must perform their qualifying programme. Exceeding the time limit of 8 minutes will lead to disqualification.

 A competitor may only perform once in the final competition, which will form part of the Festival Concert on Saturday April 2nd.
